Hi, I’m Bethanie!

I’m a therapist who believes therapy should feel human, honest and useful!

I work with people navigating the complicated stuff whether that is trauma, complex mental health, ADHD and neurodivergence, relationships, emotional regulation, parenting and the challenges that can come with simply trying to keep everything together.

My approach is warm but direct. I’m not here to tell you how you should feel or give you a list of things to fix about yourself. I want to understand your story, the experiences that have shaped you and the patterns that might be keeping you stuck; and then work with you on what can change.

I draw on evidence-based approaches including DBT, CBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR and the Gottman Method, tailoring the work to the person sitting in front of me.

You don't have to know where to start.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might know exactly what you want help with, or you might just know that something doesn't feel right.

Either way, you don't need to have it all figured out before you come in. The first step is simply creating some space to talk about what's happening and work out where to go from there.

ENQUIRE

Get in touch, book online or send through an enquiry. If you're unsure which appointment is right for you, that's okay, we can work that out together!

FIRST SESSION

Your first session is about getting to know you and understanding what has brought you in. We'll talk about what's happening now, relevant experiences and what you'd like to be different.

A little information goes a long way!

Before your first appointment, you'll complete some intake information so I can understand a little about you, what's bringing you to therapy and what you'd like support with.

INTAKE

Before your first session

It's completely normal to feel unsure about what to say in your first session…

You might find it helpful to think about:

  • What's been happening lately?

  • What made you decide to seek therapy now?

  • Is there something you want to change?

  • What have you tried before?

  • What would you like to get out of therapy?

Before your appointment, you'll also be asked to complete your intake and consent forms. This gives me some background before we meet and helps us make the most of our time together.
